Autocar Awards recognize Kia CEO
San Juan, Puerto Rico, July 2, 2025 – The Autocar 2025 Awards recognize Kia Corporation President and CEO Ho Sung Song with the Issigonis Trophy, the highest honor bestowed by British magazine Autocar, which is awarded annually to individuals who have made significant contributions to the automotive industry through innovation, leadership, and exceptional business performance.
“This recognition reflects the commitment and passion of the entire Kia team globally and in Puerto Rico. Since his appointment in 2020, the president of Kia Corporation has led a significant transformation at Kia, driving the global Plan S strategy, which has positioned the brand as a leader in sustainable mobility. Under his leadership, the brand identity was renewed and award-winning electric models were launched. He has elevated design, strengthened the brand, and successfully faced the challenge of electrification,” said Abiezer Rodríguez, commercial director of Kia Puerto Rico.
One of the key aspects of this transformation has been the global rollout of Kia's new brand identity and the launch of a range of award-winning hybrid and electric vehicles. These include the Kia EV9 and EV3, named World Car of the Year (2024) and UK Car of the Year (2025), respectively.
"This recognition reinforces Kia's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and its leadership role in the electrification of the automotive sector," said Rodríguez.
